About Me.

I am in awe of the intricate processes of the human brain and body. With cutting-edge technologies, science is constantly mapping and exploring the complex neural pathways and neurotransmitters that make up our minds.

Psychiatry needs to recognize the importance of addressing health at the neuronal level and also delve into how genetic variations like SNPs, can impact the body's ability to process essential nutrients. My commitment to staying at the forefront of modern medicine helps to provide the best possible care for clients.

At the age of 18, I found my calling in nursing and caring for others. I derive joy from helping people during their difficult times. I take inspiration from Harriet Tubman for her bravery in guiding others to safety and freedom.

Throughout my calling to care for my family (and myself) I have delved into holistic, complimentary, alternative, and natural approaches to optimize our wellness. My choice to pursue psychiatry came from a desire to more effectively walk alongside friends and family through depression, panic, ADHD, divorce, and devastating addictions.

I have a passion for working with teens. With personal experience raising and launching four (so far) of my own children into adulthood, I have a special understanding and commitment to supporting teens through their unique challenges.

I also homeschooled them for over a decade.

During my academic years, I was drawn to the therapy classes and the integrative medicine studies. I strongly believe in the effectiveness of natural healing modalities, and I am passionate about the idea of food being our medicine, as famously quoted by Hippocrates.

I started my healthcare experience in 1995 when I obtained my RN degree.  I have a deep understanding of life’s challenges, shaped by my personal experiences as a mother of seven, including three who spent weeks in the NICU, and as a caregiver for my husband following his double lung transplant.

My journey through insomnia, depression, and panic attacks has forged my empathetic and effective approach to mental health. Over the past 20+ years, I’ve treated myself and my family’s health issues with a natural approach, employing supplements, herbs, oils, and homeopathy for various ailments.

My friends and family describe me as encouraging, supportive, and gentle, with a kind and persistent demeanor.

Patients have expressed a strong preference for me due to my calm, compassionate demeanor and my ability to build rapport, and address their concerns. For those who desire to begin our sessions with prayer, I am always thrilled to! These clients also love that I have a certification in biblical counseling. I also have training in BHRT.

During my free time, I love cooking scrumptious gluten and dairy-free meals with my kids, chatting about their day, and sharing a good laugh. Additionally, I enjoy swimming and jogging with my furry companion , running 5Ks with my boys, and lifting weights with my trainer.

Belief Statement

“I believe that nothing is beyond reach. Every problem has steps that can lead to solutions or improvements. We all have blind spots and can benefit from an external perspective. In our increasingly isolated society, we often lack the close connections we once had. Let me offer you a second pair of eyes to address your concerns and provide support."

I am currently collaborating with Dr. Paul Looney.
